The Return Of Alphatown, The Three-headed Beast.

Luke Mynott, Adam Zielonka and Andrew Maher, are Sydney lads who have been writing and performing music together for over 15 years. Regulars at top-notch Sydney club nights like Mad Racket, Frigid and Chinese Laundry, these guys create giddy, soulful, deep, groove-driven electro, house and techno. Dancefloor burners that can take you to that higher place.

They exude their brilliance on RTM003 and it ain't just for dance floors. These tunes will suit your mood on those well-deserved evenings when you kick back, sucking on a cigar while soaking in the tub.

First up is 'Wriggle' - an Alphatown original remixed by Alphatown member Ray Diode (Adam Z).

The vocal was inspired when on a Sydney train, Andrew overheard a woman tell her grandchild to 'get a wriggle on!'. A moment of epiphany led him to determine that this well-worn Australianism was dance-floor dynamite.

The song demands we 'get a wriggle on' lest we miss our stop and find ourselves trapped on the overnight express to some far-flung cultural wasteland. After a few bumpy circuits of the Loop in classic Chicago house style, there is a dramatic switching of the tracks and we find ourselves speeding on the Shinkansen through the neon glow of Tokyo, the air shimmering with falsetto vocals.

On the flip-side, a bittersweet tale of love lost. 'Never Knew' mixes crisp, wafer-esque drums with creamy organ sounds and smothers it all in deep, caramelised bass. A refined dessert, a twilight delight to be devoured as night stretches into morning.

Finally you can enjoy these two little beauties at home, at the club or in your bathtub (recommended).

RTM002 Peret Mako

RTM002 - Peret Mako

A: Air A Dime
B: Scenic Route

Two more cuts from Peret Mako's long player 'The Devil's In The Detail' on RTM Records.

'Air A Dime' and the 13 minute epic 'Scenic Route' draw their inspiration from a sound rarely represented in today's electronic music. In keeping with the aesthetics of the likes of Black Dog, Larry Heard, Carl Craig and Matthew Herbert the moods and sonics are ever changing. Live drums, horns, guitars and vocals join odd synthesised creatures; an eccentric and beautiful musical equivalent of an Escher painting. These tracks were conceived, mixed and mastered for vinyl and the wax adds it's own warmth and dynamics to these tracks as only the black stuff can. It also provides more space for Peret Mako's happily deranged drawings. Save the vinyl!

Available on 12" vinyl from Spank! Records. Distributed through Vinyl Factory, Australia.

RTM001 - Alphatown & Peret Mako

A: Deadly Venom
B: Lost In This

Hear these tracks:  http://www.myspace.com/roomtomanoeuvre

Like its breeding ground of Sydney, Room To Manoeuvre's first release presents a glistening, scaly exterior which conceals a sensitive, soulful side and a dark underbelly.

Wayward local house heavyweights Alphatown finally bare their fangs with 'Deadly Venom', a salvo of toxic funk layered with insanely catchy badass rhymin'. Penned by Alphatowner Andrew Maher, and mixed with sharp-toothed precision by Peret von Sturmer (aka Peret Mako), this is a seismic hip-house thumper whose powerful venom will rapidly overwhelm dancefloors worldwide, leaving them in a feverish sweat.

Peret Mako's 'Lost In This' may seem like the ideal antidote, but beware the intricate web of cutting edge production techniques! Mako's compositions defy easy categorisation but generate instant dancefloor heat while revealing new layers of complexity with each successive listen. Essential for the discerning devil!

RTM001 is out now and available from Vinyl Factory.
